Flower delivery for Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a privileged moment to express her love and her gratitude to her mother. Offering flowers is an essential tradition of this celebration. Why not innovate this year by choosing everlasting flowers, dried flowers or preserved flowers ? These alternatives have several advantages compared to fresh flowers and are just as pretty.

Everlasting flowers for a lasting gift

Everlasting flowers, also called everlasting roses, are natural flowers that have undergone special treatment to keep their beauty and freshness for several years. They are ideal for giving as a gift during Mother's Day because they symbolize the everlasting love that we have to his mom.

The process of preserving everlasting flowers

To obtain everlasting flowers, fresh flowers are picked up at their peak and plunged into a glycerol and dye solution. This liquid gradually replaces the sap and water present in the vegetable cells. Once the preservation process is complete, the flowers retain their fresh appearance and their bright colours for several years.

How to maintain everlasting flowers?

Everlasting flowers do not require any particular maintenance. Just dive them gently with a soft cloth or a brush with soft hair from time to time and place them away from direct sunlight to preserve their colours.

Dried flowers, an ecological and durable alternative

Dried flowers are an attractive and environmentally friendly option to offer Mother's Day. They can be kept for several years without losing their charm, and they bring a bohemian and vintage touch to any interior.

Flower drying techniques

• Drying in the open air: The flowers are hanging downstairs in a dry and dark place for several weeks. It is the simplest and most natural method to dry flowers.
• Pressing: The flowers are placed between two sheets of paper absorbent and pressed under one weight for a few weeks. This technique helps keep the shape and colours of the flowers, but they become flat and fragile.
• Desiccation: The flowers are plunged into a silica gel that absorbs moisture. This process preserves the three-dimensional form of flowers and helps keep more delicate species such as orchids.

How to maintain dried flowers?

No need for water or light for dried flowers! Just dust them regularly with a flexible brush and protect them from shocks and humidity.

Preserved flowers, an innovative alternative to fresh flowers

Preserved flowers are natural flowers that have been treated with a conservative solution based on glycerin. They thus retain their fresh appearance and flexibility for several years, while being more resistant than dried flowers.

The flower preservation process

Fresh flowers are picked up at their peak and plunged into a glycerin bath mixed with dyes and fixing agents. This mixture is gradually replacing the sap and water present in the vegetable cells, allowing flowers to keep their shape and their colours without fading.

Advantages of preserved flowers

Preserved flowers have several advantages compared to fresh flowers:

• Sustainability : They can last several years without losing their brilliance.
• Economy : Despite a higher initial cost, their long lifespan makes it a profitable long-term investment.
• Respect for the environment: Preserved flowers do not require water or light, which preserves natural resources.
• Ease of maintenance: They are easy to maintain and require only an occasional dustwork.
